Trip Overview
The Nepal government's recent decision to open up Nar Phu Valley to tourists has evoked little enthusiasm among the villagers, whose pastoral lifestyle continues. Apart from the odd researcher and climbing expeditions, permitted to climb Himlung Himal (7,126 m), Kangaru Himal (6,981 m) and Chombi Himal (6,704 m), few foreigners has visited the area and tourism infrastructure is almost non-existent. Since Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP) recently extended its network to include Nar and Phu valley, it is preparing a suitable tourism development plan at the request of the government for undiscovered valley. In this region, Trekkers trek through the Himalayan foothills of Annapurna and round the eastern end of the Annapurna Circuit before they arrive at KOTTO, a police check post half an hour before Chame, Manang's district headquarters. From here, the route to Nar Phu split from the Classical Annapurna Circuit trail / trek. This part of the trek was opened by Nepalese Government of Nepal in 2003, as new branded tourism products for the foreigners. In these two main villages, there are roughly 350 households & the people of this region are Ex- Khampas in habitants, the region was isolated for a long time! The area is less explored & very quiet. This is very good ideas to trek very busy Annapurna Circuitplus this isolated/ quiet tailor-made trail together for a difference experience!
